St. Louis Magazine's June Issue
Launch Party, May 22

St. Louis Magazine's A-List
Party, June 26

Last Week’s Poll Results: Last week’s poll asked how St. Louisans plan to occupy their summer. In it, spending time with the kids and praying the AC doesn’t explode each earned 10.5 percent of the vote, while tending to rain-crazy gardens earned another 21.1 percent. The landslide winner, though, was the ol’ swimmin’ hole: 57.9 percent of respondents stated that they hope to pass every spare instant soaking up the sun at the nearest pool. (Just don’t forget your SLM Super-SPF Solution®, available at finer apothecaries everywhere!)

Flood Retrospective

In “‘The Whole Town Was a Lake’” in our July issue―now on newsstands throughout the civilized world!―former executive editor Matthew Halverson revisits the so-called “Great Flood,” the dreadful, soul-crushing inundation of 1993. How did you respond to that nine-page feature, which spotlights oral testimonials from roughly two dozen locals affected by that natural disaster?

A stunning reminder of one of the area’s darkest hours
Serviceable and readable―but an awfully big subject
Still too painful to read about, even 15 years later
Get over the flood, already―whine, whine, whine!
